Yeah baby, it’s getting real for GM… General Motors has announced a wealth of new all-electric vehicles in conjunction with the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), including the new Chevy Blazer EV and Chevy Equinox EV. Both electrified crossovers are slated to launch for the 2023 calendar year. Complete official details on the new crossovers are still forthcoming, but at this point, we do know that both the Chevy Blazer EV And Chevy Equinox EV will be based on GM’s BEV3 architecture and will utilize GM’s proprietary Ultium technology. We also know that the Chevy Equinox will be offered in LT and performance-flavored RS trim levels, with fleet and retail versions both slated for release. What’s more, the Chevy Equinox EV will be priced around the $30,000 mark, while the larger Chevy Blazer EV will likely be more expensive. Either way, both crossovers will launch for the 2023 calendar year, expanding GM’s all-electric product portfolio with further offerings in the industry’s two largest segments. General Motors has stated that it will launch a total of 30 new EV models globally by 2025 as it transitions to all-electric powertrains and promotes the mass-adoption of EV passenger vehicles. The new GM EVs will feature General Motors’ proprietary Ultium battery technology and Ultium drive motor technology, as well as new EV-centric architectures like BEV3 and BT1. General Motors also recently opened its first EV-focused production facility with the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan, previously known as Detroit-Hamtramck.
