VDL wil Nedcar overnemen
VDL wil Nedcar overnemen. Het Eindhovense bedrijf voert momenteel onderhandelingen met de autofabriek uit Born. Mocht de overname doorgaan, is dat de redding van het bedrijf. Sinds Mitsubishi in februari besloot om de productie te stoppen, zitten vijftien honderd mensen zonder werk. Bij de onderhandelingen wordt ook BMW betrokken. Het autobedrijf zou onderdeel uitmaken van de deal. Vanaf 2014 zou BMW auto's willen laten maken bij Nedcar.

VDL Nedcar was an automotive manufacturing company in Born, Netherlands. It was the largest automotive factory in the country, with a production capacity of 240,000 vehicles a year. VDL Nedcar was closed in March 2024 because the contract with BMW Group was not renewed. The company had its origins in a DAF car factory which opened in 1968.
