VDL koopt fabriek Nedcar
Mitsubishi verkoopt NedCar in Born voor het symbolische bedrag van 1 euro aan VDL Groep. Dat heeft het Japanse concern bekendgemaakt. Het Eindhovense VDL bevestigt de deal. Er wordt een nieuw bedrijf opgericht: VDL-NedCar, alle 1500 medewerkers van NedCar kunnen daar in dienst blijven. Het Duitse BMW gaat Mini's produceren in de fabriek. Het nieuwe bedrijf is waarschijnlijk eind 2014 operationeel. Volgens FNV Bondgenoten krijgen de medewerkers van NedCar tot die tijd doorbetaald. De vakbond legt het akkoord dat met VDL is gesloten donderdag voor aan alle medewerkers.

VDL Nedcar was an automotive manufacturing company in Born, Netherlands. It was the largest automotive factory in the country, with a production capacity of 240,000 vehicles a year.
