Cadillac Lyriq to open Customer Orders After Q1 Launches

Now, according to General Motors, the response to the new Cadillac Lyriq has been so positive, the automaker will open customer orders following the launch of the Lyriq Debut Edition in March. General Motors CEO Mary Barra announced the news in an open letter to the company's shareholders, which was released in conjunction with the company's most recent quarterly earnings report, which was released in conjunction with the company's most recent quarterly earnings report. "The stunning Cadillac Lyriq SUV will be the next Ultium-based EV to hit the market," Barra writes. "As a result, we will forego a new round of reservations and will begin accepting customer orders as soon as the Debut Edition is released in March," says a spokesperson for Lyriq. In September of 2021, reservations for the new Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition for the year 2023 opened following the crossover's debut in production-ready form in April of that year. Customers were required to pay $100 in order to reserve the crossover. According to General Motors, reservations for the new Lyriq Debut Edition were fully booked in less than 10 minutes after they were made available. The Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition is equipped with a 100.4 kWh lithium-ion Ultium battery pack, which is paired with a GM Ultium Drive single electric motor that is mounted on the rear axle as standard equipment. The engine is capable of producing approximately 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. When connected to a DC quick-charge source, the range per charge is estimated to be around 300 miles, with an additional 76 miles of range added every 10 minutes when the battery is fully charged. The Cadillac Lyriq is built on the GM BEV3 platform, which is specifically designed for electric vehicles.
