While Toyota was not the first to begin developing mass-produced small sports cars. The SV-3 prototype was first introduced to the public at the 1983 Tokyo motor show. The Sv-3 It was 1 of 28 foreign exhibitors from 6 countries and 1 of 6 passenger cars that they showcased there MR2 was launched that same year and has been popular in the sports car world ever since for its fun to drive mid engine layout design. The Toyota MR2 is a two-seater sports car which was manufactured and marketed by Toyota from 1984 until 2007 over three generations. It was the first Japanese rear-mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive production car and was sold around the world. The first generation (W10) was produced from 1984 to 1989, the second generation (W20) from 1989 to 1999, and the third generation (W30) from 1999 to 2007.
