En 1974, lAméricain Malcolm Bricklin sest servi des subsides du gouvernement du Nouveau-Brunswick pour installer ses deux usines lune à Saint John et lautre à Minto, au Nouveau-Brunswick. Malgré son design spécial et ses caractéristiques originales, la Bricklin était en fait fabriquée avec des pièces provenant des sociétés Ford et American Motors. Bien quassemblée au Canada, la Bricklin nétait vendue quaux États-Unis.
