Cruise to Romeo in the 66 Galaxie, freeway cruising at 70 mph too.
I had to run up to Romeo this morning.... seeing it was clear blue sky and predicted to be an amazing day, I took the Galaxie. It was a very pleasant run up there and back. About half the 70 miles is freeway. This is the first time I have had it on the freeway sense I bought it.... and I bet since it was parked in 1976, so that marks it's first freeway run in 45 years. It "floated" down the freeway at 70 mph effortlessly. It kept creeping up to 80. This will be a great car for weekend road trips, as it seems to love the freeway.... it really smooths out at 70+ mph. This is mostly driving the Galaxie video, plus yapping throughout, BUT I did get some video of it in the driveway of dad's old house and other stops along the way. The house is a 1964, so it's a perfect backdrop for period correct photos and video.... Plus dad had a 66 Country Sedan years back at that house. I have many photos of that wagon in the drive of that house, so I had to get some video of it parked there. Once I have it all finished, I will ask the new home owner if I can park it in the driveway so I can get some good photos of it there.
