In 1952 Carrozzeria Pinin Farina recruited upcoming talented designer Aldo Brovarone. His skills soon became pivotal in reshaping Ferraris from boxy transporters with flat upright fascias into streamlined cruisers with circular radiator grilles, bilateral horizontal bumpers and elongated headlight trays. His revised design concept was presented in Alfa Romeo's Superflow IV project car, the predecessor to the 1966 Alfa Romeo Spider, and established in Ferrari's America GT production series of Superamericas 400 I through IV, Superfast 500, 365 California, as well as in the 330 GT 2+2 series. Notably, Ferrari fused both series into an offspring of only four 330 GTC Speciales that were to be acquired by Royalty of the era and considered as the predecessor to the 365 GT 2+2. Presented in 1967, the ensuing 365 GT 2+2 would be the first Ferrari to offer high speed cruising with properly controlled drama due to Enzo's request for an independent, self-leveling rear suspension. Its flair of touring with opulence was further substantiated by power assisted steering, power windows, wide center wood-trimmed console with arrays of gauges, toggle switches and air vents, generous air conditioning for all passengers and ample Connoly-trimmed seating with central armrest at the rear. Throughout its limited 3-year production only 800 units were manufactured, a few of which were ordered in special colors. Chassis 12829 was produced on July of 1969 in the most exceptional Celeste Gainsborough, a color which offers a unique blend of sky blue metallic over silver with a hint of underlying light green. Its exterior is properly supported by its Blu Scuro leather interior as wisely ordered by Ferrari's Charles Pozzi SA in Paris, France. For the next 18 years the 365 would be driven in France and regularly maintained by Charles Pozzi in Paris, Garage Moriceau Motoriste in Nantes, A.M.C.A. Jacques Zuliani in Eclaron and Autobank International at the owner's hometown at Levallois. According to records, at one point before 1985 while in France, the exterior coating was reapplied but in silver. In 1988 the 365 was sourced and acquired by an avid Ferrari collector in London who flew to France to drive it just for a day prior to shipping it home. Once in the UK, the vehicle received proper care from Stratton Motor Company at Norfolk and immediately stored as part of a private collection of a member of a family of shipping magnates, politicians, poets, psychoanalysts, philanthropists, artists and automobile visionaries including the creator of the 1938 Bentley 4 1/4 Embiricos Le Mans Special. Nine years and only 1440 km later the 365 was sold to a Norfolk-based collector who sold it through an auction to its current owner, an adamant Ferrari enthusiast and collector. Twenty years and only 450 km later this exceptionally elegant Ferrari was restored back to its factory authentic condition and specifications. Its magnificent original color was applied, the original interior received a preservation treatment and all mechanicals were overhauled to stellar performance and drivability.
