The Dino V6 Engine: A History of Power and Performance. The Dino V6 engine is a line of mechanically similar V6 engines produced by Ferrari for about 40 years from the late 1950s into the early 2000s. It was Alfredo "Dino" Ferrari, who was the son of Enzo Ferrari, who initially came up with the idea of a 6 Cylinder Engine (V6) and was assisted by Ferrari engineers Vittorio Jano and Aurelio Lampredi. Dino was a talented engineer who died of muscular dystrophy at the age of 24, but his legacy lives on in the Dino V6 engine. Ferrari decided to continue development of the engine in his son's memory. The first Dino V6 engine was a 1.5-liter unit that was used in Formula 2 race cars in 1957. The engine was a success, and it helped Ferrari win the Formula 2 championship that year. The Dino V6 engine was also used in a number of road cars, including the Dino 206 GT and 246 GT, as well as the Fiat Dino and Lancia Stratos. The Dino V6 engine is a smooth, powerful, and reliable engine. It is known for its high-pitched wail, which is one of the most distinctive sounds in the automotive world. The Dino V6 engine is a true classic, and it is sure to be enjoyed by enthusiasts for many years to come. Technical Specifications: The Dino V6 engine is a 65-degree V6 engine with a variety of displacements, including 2.0 liters, 2.4 liters as used in the 206GT and 246 GT. Performance: The Dino V6 engine is capable of producing up to 200 horsepower in its most powerful form. The Dino V6 engine was used in a number of iconic sports cars, including: • Fiat Dino • Dino 206 GT • Dino 246 GT • Lancia Stratos The Dino V6 engine was also used in a number of Formula 2 and Formula 3 race cars.
