This is a completely stock 1952 Ford Truck 8RT Engine. The motor has been completely rebuilt and is completely stock with the exception of 12V conversion and alternator. Internally the engine was bored .060 oversize and assembled with Egge Machine components. The valvetrain has been completely updated for unleaded gas with new valves with hard chromed stems, and hard exhaust seats. Camshaft is a reground 8CM Mercury with .344 lift and 264 duration. The valve train was assembled with hollow non-adjustable tappets as original. I specialize in the complete rebuilding and restoration of vintage automobile engines. I have Flathead cores available that can be custom built to order. If you have questions please feel free to call 559-313-1454 or e-mail hotvega73@yahoo.com
The Ford line of cars was refreshed for 1952, although remaining similar to the all-new 1949 Fords. This time, curved one-piece windshield glass joined a new "Mileage Maker" straight-6 engine with 101 hp. The 226 CID (3.7 L) L-head straight-6 was replaced by an overhead valve 215 CID (3.5 L) Mileage Maker with 101 hp (75 kW), while the old 239 CID (3.9 L) Flathead V8 remained with 110 hp (82 kW).
