In this exclusive video, automotive historian and filmmaker Dean Kirkland takes you behind the scenes of an unprecedented collaboration between Trion Supercars and high schools in Fresno, California. Led by visionary designer and CEO Richard Patterson, Trion Supercars has teamed up with students from the Career Technical Education Charter (CTEC) High School, Duncan Polytechnical High School, and the Center for Advanced Research and Technology (CART) to develop the Nemesis, a 2,000-horsepower marvel of American engineering and craftsmanship. Kirkland sits down with Quentin Hugh Dodson, the facilities manager and operations manager at Trion Supercars, to discuss the genesis of the Nemesis project and the incredible features that set this supercar apart. With a twin-turbo V8 engine capable of producing up to 2,000 horsepower on E85 fuel, an advanced all-wheel-drive system, and programmable driving modes for every scenario, the Nemesis is poised to be a game-changer in the world of high-performance vehicles. But what truly sets this project apart is the hands-on involvement of Fresno's talented high school students. Brian Emerson, an instructor of advanced manufacturing and engineering at CTEC High School, shares his thoughts on the collaboration and the confidence he has in his students' abilities to tackle real-world industry projects. Jonathan Delano, the director of CTEC High School, echoes Emerson's enthusiasm and highlights the importance of partnerships between education and industry in preparing students for successful careers. Kirkland also speaks with Lavon Kenyon and Jalen Diastolic, two students who are directly involved in the Nemesis project. Kenyon, a junior at CTEC High School, will be working on the computer-aided design (CAD) aspects of the supercar, while Diastolic, a sophomore and lead engineer on the school's robotics team, will be tackling the engineering and CAD components. Both students express their excitement and eagerness to learn from this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. As the Nemesis project progresses, the students' contributions will be showcased on a global stage, with the completed prototype set to be unveiled at a major auto show in Las Vegas later this year. This collaboration serves as an inspiring example of how industry and education can work together to foster innovation, provide students with real-world experience, and invest in the future workforce of the American automotive industry. Join Dean Kirkland as he explores the groundbreaking partnership between Trion Supercars and Fresno's high schools, and discover how the Nemesis project is redefining what's possible when it comes to American ingenuity and the power of hands-on education.
