2027 BMW X5 G65 — First Look at the All New Model of the Legendary SUV
The new fifth-generation BMW X5 (G65), built on the flexible CLAR platform. Production is scheduled to begin at the Spartanburg plant (U.S.) in August 2026 as a 2027 model. The core concept of the new model is to incorporate design elements from the Neue Klasse electric vehicles into a premium crossover with an internal combustion engine, while offering the widest possible range of powertrains. For the first time, the model will offer five powertrain options: gasoline, diesel, plug-in hybrid, all-electric, and a hydrogen version: the iX5 Hydrogen (in partnership with Toyota) is expected by 2028

The G65 BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by German automaker BMW. It is the fifth generation of the BMW X5, set to debut on 30 June 2026 and succeeding the G05 X5. The G65 is the first X5 to receive a battery electric variant, named the iX5.
