The Last 1958 Ferrari 250 GT Ellena

A January 1958 Sports Car Illustrated test of the Ellena-bodied 250 GT quoted top speed at 125 mph, with 157 mph theoretically possible depending upon the final-drive ratio selected. Acceleration of the road-test car was 5.9 seconds for the 0–60 dash. Interior aspects, including the steering wheel, instrument panel, gauges, and door hardware were identical to its 250 GT stablemates. Sadly, the fate of many Ellena-bodied 250 GTs was not good, with some later re-bodied to resemble a TdF or Spider, and some lost their engines to power racing cars. Only a fraction of the 50 Ellenas produced survive intact today with their original bodies and engines, making this 1958 Ferrari 250 GT (s/n 0887 GT), documented as the last of the series produced, an exciting discovery which should continue to be preserved or would make an excellent candidate for future restoration.
