Restoration of a 2000€ Land Rover - Done. S6 - EP 38

In this episode, we bring our long-running project “Lord Frankenstein” to its grand finale. After months of restoration, rebuilding, and countless repairs, our 2008 Land Rover Discovery 3 SE with the 2.7L TDV6 Diesel engine is finally ready for the road. This car, which we originally bought for only 1950 Euro with a failed engine under the hood and a broken short block in the trunk, has been our most ambitious project yet—a true Frankenstein built from the parts of many donor engines and endless hours of work. To pass TÜV inspection, we had to solve a whole series of challenges: an EGR fault, a seat repair, the rear parking sensors, speaker issues, and a long list of smaller problems on the body. We also programmed a new key into the ignition system and fitted some accessories to make the car usable again. Only after all of this could Lord Frankenstein be handed over to our son Philipp, who will now be driving the resurrected Discovery. This episode shows the final steps of a rebuild that started with rust, broken bolts, and piles of parts and ends with a running, inspected, road-legal Land Rover.
