Getting my Barn Find 2000 Honda Insight street legal for the first time in 5 years!

Part 4 of I Bought a Dead 22 Year Old Honda Insight Hybrid and Drove it Home After It had sat for 5 Years! In this video we address some issues with how the car runs and give it a drive to make the computer ready for passing a state inspection. This is a very long video where we Change the Oil, clean the PCV, replace the Air Filter, figure out what it takes to replace the Rear Shocks, Clean and Adjust the Rear Drum Brakes, rebuild a wheel cylinder and replace the cabin air filter. This car sat for many years, while getting the engine to run was very simple, getting it to run strong and get great gas mileage took a bit longer. Restoring the engines power required a mixture of minor repairs and lots of driving. It has taken about 400+ miles of driving for the car to regain enough power that when cruising down the road and maintaining speed that we are finally seeing the amazing mpg potential of the 2000-2006 Honda Insight first generation. I am now regularly seeing the MPG meter holding 75 MPG when maintaining cruising speeds in town and some times that high on the highway.
