ROUND 4 OF THE Southern Sprint Cars at Central Motor Speedway, down there in the fantastic Central Otago, Cromwell. Here the view from my eye, with the HOT LAPS, then the 3 Heats. Its always a fantastic track to get too, its very fast and great racing throughout a night and of course Sprintcars will never let you down as these are rocket ships, with Jamie Duff cracking out a ball buster time in Heat 1 of 117.592 km/h. Jamie was on a mission from the get go and by crikey, very impressive run with a couple Heat wins and also taking out the Feature. Viewing got a bit wild at times, as those monstrous hooves kicked up the Cromwell clay and turned vision into a blurr, with the sun lowering, it was extremely hard at times to see as spectators, let alone Daryl Shuttleworth doing commentary but then of course the drivers where right amongst it, but with fantastic driving all round, carnage was kept very minimal and it was just go for the doctor and hope like hell come out the other end for the flag. As many know last year i had my camera focused a lot on Joel Myers Jr. and fantastic to see him return, not only him but also drag along his American buddy, another young buck with fantastic skill and very bright future ahead, is Brenham Crouch. Great to see them both doing not too bad, Joel grabbing a Heat win and also young Brenham, whom was racing the Daniel Anderson 46C, getting a 3rd placing in Heat 3. Couple of the big guns werent out for the nights racing, one being Daniel Anderson, as poor bugger still not right from his big up and over moment at Ruapuna Speedway a month or so ago and the other good bugger to always keep ya eyes on, was the 15C of Steve Duff. Speaking with Stevo like many things in life, sometimes just need a break away, have a breather and thats exactly what Steve will be doing. Its a very full on season and when you combine work and speedway, it dont leave much time to chill, so all the best of luck to the big brute and no doubt we will see him back on track and hammering that pedal. To all drivers, to all down there at Central Motor Speedway, cheers for great day, this time i managed to get there and fantastic show once again. You will see a mention to Aoraki Rentals, (just happens to be my workplace 😉 ) but been having dramas with the Commodore, tried to get down for Sprintcar War of the Wings, which i have been hanging to get too since the calendar came out, so was very deflated not to get over the Lindis, with problems arising even before then, so had to bite the bullet and turn around and limp back home, so thankfully got the ol Camry from work, which got me back down to Cromwell, so cheers to my Boss. You will see parts of the video, quite shakey, as didnt have my usual platform to stand on from inside the boot of the car. Phew, it was a relief to get down and dusty in Cromwell. BACKSIDES SCREENSIDE... ITS SHOW TIME with Hot Laps and Heats.... Feature still to come, from "Desert Storm Cromwell". VIDEO CONTENT TIMES: 3MIN 08 - HOT LAPS 12MIN 39 - HEAT 1 18MIN 49 - HEAT 2 25MIN 45 - HEAT 3.
