Ford Granada: The American Mercedes of the 1970’s
The North American version of the Ford Granada. Built from 1975 to1982 it was developed as the original successor to the Ford Maverick. It shares its name with Ford of Europe's flagship sedan. It was marketed as a luxury compact vehicle made to compete with the best of Europe. Ford was aiming at BMW and Mercedes with this car and to those looking to downsize from larger American cars.
