very rare 1956 Ferrari 500 TR (Testa Rossa) Scaglietti Spider - Startup Sound - After losing to Mercedes-Benz in the World Sports Car Championship 1955 in charge was clear that there was action in the Scuderia Ferrari in. A new type name was born: Testarossa. The 500 TR Testarossa was the first in a long series of Ferrari sports car with this designation. The engine now made 180 hp and had two camshafts and two distributor. In contrast to the other 4-cylinder racing car of Ferrari, who had a gearbox in unit with the differential, the 500TR had a splinted directly with the engine fully synchronized 4-speed transmission. Since the sports car world championship was held in 1957 under the new rules ( capacity ceiling as determined 3 liters) , Ferrari introduced in November 1956 before the cut on this racing class 250 Testa Rossa, an evolution of the four-cylinder Ferrari 500TR , with three-liter V12 . The design of the lightweight aluminum body came from Pinin Farina, the reaction was carried out at the coachbuilder Scaglietti . Typical of the early Testarossa was the " pontoon " the front fenders, which were deducted from the car body behind the front wheels . The three-liter V12 engine with an overhead camshaft per cylinder bank from the Ferrari 250 made here , 9.8 : 1 compressed, ventilated with six Weber carburetors and single ignition 38DCN 221 kW ( 300 hp) at 7200 rpm .
