Honda past and present
Honda Motor was first established in 1948 by Soichiro Honda and Takeo Fujisawa and American Honda Motor was formed in Los Angeles in 1959 as the Japanese automaker’s first overseas subsidiary. Here's a look back at the history of Honda and its many iconic vehicles including the 1974 Honda Civic. In 1949, Honda released its first originally designed and engineered product: the “Dream” D-Type motorcycle.
About Takeo Fujisawa
Takeo Fujisawa was a Japanese businessman who co-founded Honda Motor Co., Ltd. alongside Soichiro Honda. Fujisawa oversaw the financial side of the company while Honda handled the engineering and product development. Together, they took the company from a small manufacturer of bicycle engines to a worldwide car manufacturer.
