LOCATION Larissa is second largest regional unit in Greece. It is part of the region of Thessaly. Its capital is the city of Larissa. A total of 30 locomotives were built in two batches between 1996 and 2005. HellasSprinter locomotives are based on the EuroSprinter "ES 64P" prototype,which was adapted for a lower power of (5,000kW / 6,700hp),a lower weight of 80 tonnes and electric components suitable for the Greek 25 kV AC - 50 Hz system.
