Get 20% off Car Vertical using code Carwow: http://www.carvertical.com/carwow Check this one out, supercar fans! Mat and the team have flown over to Denmark to team up with the Selected Car Investment team to get hands-on with every car from the Ferrari Icona Series! That means he’ll be getting up close and personal with the Ferrari Monza SP1, SP2 & the Ferrari Daytona SP3! So let’s take a look at these truly iconic cars… Starting with the SP1 and SP2, they’re two of the most striking cars Ferrari has ever produced! They’re inspired by Ferrari’s 1950s racing cars, and the only difference between the two is that the SP1 has one seat, while the SP2 has two. Neither car has a windscreen, and they’re both based on the 812 Superfast’s chassis. Both cars are also powered by a front-mounted 6.5-litre NA V12, again the same as found in the 812. In terms of the design, both the SP1 & SP2 are striking pieces of kit. Up front, you’ll find a classic oval grille, coupled with exposed carbon on the front splitter. This is flanked by high-tech lights, and they sit below an absolutely huge clamshell bonnet. The cars we have here feature a hand-painted Ferrari crest on the side (a £7,000 option!), and there’s a smart seam that runs along the side of the car. At the back, there are quad chrome tailpipes and an absolutely huge diffuser! The car is powered by a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12, which produces 810hp and 719Nm of torque. All of this power is sent to the rear wheels only via a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The two cars combined are limited to 499 units total, and when they were released, they cost £1,100,000. The SP3 comes with the same engine, but in this instance it’s mid-mounted! The only difference is it’s the 6.5-litre NA V12 taken from the 812 Competizione, which means the output has seen horsepower increase to 840, while the torque has dropped to 697Nm. Whereas the SP1 & SP2 were based on 1950s race cars, the SP3 is based on race cars from the 1960s, and it’s built on the LaFerrari’s chassis! In terms of design, it comes with a classic style grille, a load of exposed carbon, and a plethora of vents across the car to help improve air flow. It comes with an absolutely huge rear end, coming in at 2m wide, and it has super-distinctive slats across the back, coupled with twin exhaust pipes. So it’s an absolutely incredible collection of cars, but which would you choose?! Stick with Mat to find out which makes it to the top of your list!
