1952 Ford F100 Blown 429 Big Block 1250 HP Startup
In memory of Steve Brandt the top fuel supercharger, turbo and nitrous specialist from Vernon BC. One of the last vehicles he built before he passed away. 1952 Ford F100 that Steve did the roof chop and suicide doors himself. The front section between the fenders was narrowed a couple inches so the fenders didn't look so wide, he shaved the bottom inch of the hood off so it sits lower. Full tube chassis that Steve built himself. He converted the Lysholm supercharger to run on pump gas with if I remember correctly a Jon Kaase block and heads but not 100% on that. The supercharger was almost twice as big as a 14-71 supercharger. Needed the hoist to set it onto the motor with an estimated 1200-1250 hp on pump gas. And I got to bend the very first tubes for the chassis on that beast. Very happy to have been a part of it. Thank you for all you taught me Steve
About 1952 Ford
The Ford line of cars was refreshed for 1952, although remaining similar to the all-new 1949 Fords. This time, curved one-piece windshield glass joined a new "Mileage Maker" straight-6 engine with 101 hp. The 226 CID (3.7 L) L-head straight-6 was replaced by an overhead valve 215 CID (3.5 L) Mileage Maker with 101 hp (75 kW), while the old 239 CID (3.9 L) Flathead V8 remained with 110 hp (82 kW).
