Mid 1990’s Euro vs Asian-American Mini Cars
The 1996 Rover Mini Cooper represents the second to the last generation of a design that was created by a rather provincial automobile company in the mid-1950s in response to the original worldwide (in the first world anyway) fuel crisis and was introduced in 1959. 2000 would be it’s final year. The 1997 Ford Aspire represented close to the last gasp of the original Ford Festiva/Mazda 121/Kia Pride/Kia Avella/SAIPA Pride. Designed cosmopolitanly by Mazda for Ford and manufactured by Kia starting in the early 1980s it was introduced in 1986 and survived until about 2002. Sold in several markets including Australia, Iran, Korea, and throughout Asia. An interesting comparison. 😱😂
