Rare prototype footage of Willys, curated from across the internet. Browse 1 clip below.
Prototype footage offers a glimpse of cars before they reach production — spy shots of camouflaged test mules on the Nurburgring, official manufacturer teasers, and behind-the-scenes clips from design studios and wind tunnels. These videos capture the development process that takes a car from sketch to showroom, and they're particularly fascinating when compared against the final production version. Some prototypes represent paths not taken — cancelled projects, rejected designs, and experimental technologies that were ahead of their time.
Willys (pronounced "Willis") was a brand name used by Willys–Overland Motors, an American automobile company, founded by John North Willys. It was best known for its design and production of World War II–era military jeeps (MBs), Willys M38 and M38A1 military jeeps as well as civilian versions (Jeep CJs), and branding the 'jeep' military slang-word into the '(Universal) Jeep' marque.
