The 1990s was the JDM golden age and the decade that produced some of the greatest driver's cars ever made. The Mazda MX-5 proved that affordable fun wasn't dead, the Honda NSX rewrote the supercar rulebook, and the Nissan Skyline GT-R, Toyota Supra, and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution became legends of the tuning world. At the top of the pyramid, the McLaren F1 set a standard that wouldn't be surpassed for over a decade. In motorsport, Michael Schumacher dominated Formula 1, while the World Rally Championship delivered some of its most iconic battles. The rise of consumer video cameras and early internet forums means footage from this era is more accessible — but the best clips remain scattered across forgotten websites and ageing VHS transfers.
