It was the birthplace of the 2JZ-GTE and all of the glory that followed through the rest of the 90s with its application in the Mk4 Supra Turbo. Sold as the Lexus GS here in North America, the Aristo captured the Japanese market with it's insane reliability and advanced powerband thanks to the 2J's VVTI (Variable Valve Timing) and sequential turbos working together quite beautifully.
