Chrysler ME Four-Twelve 2004 Mid-Engine Concept Prototype Unveiled at the 2004 North American International Auto Show, the ME Four-Twelve represented Chrysler’s most ambitious performance study of the modern era. Constructed on a carbon-fiber and aluminum chassis, the vehicle was powered by a quad-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 producing a claimed 850 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque. Chrysler projected a 0–60 mph time under three seconds and a top speed exceeding 240 mph. Developed during the DaimlerChrysler period, the powertrain incorporated Mercedes-Benz engineering, reflecting the transatlantic partnership of the time. Though fully functional and road-tested, the ME Four-Twelve never advanced beyond prototype stage. Shifting corporate priorities ultimately ended the program. Today, it remains one of the most technically ambitious concept vehicles ever produced by an American manufacturer — a rare moment when Chrysler briefly entered the hypercar conversation. #hypercar #chrysler #automotivehistory #conceptcar #deadmotorsclub
