Lea-Francis was a British automobile manufacturer that produced cars from 1903 to 1962. The company was founded by Richard Henry Lea and Graham Inglesby Francis in Coventry, England. The Lea-Francis 14 HP is one of the models produced by the company during its early years. It was introduced in 1905 and featured a four-cylinder engine with a displacement of 2.8 liters. This engine produced around 14 horsepower and gave the car a top speed of approximately 45 mph (72 km/h). The 14 HP model had a wheelbase of 90 inches (2,286 mm) and was available as a tonneau or touring car. It was known for its robust construction and reliable performance. The car's bodywork was made of ash wood frame covered with canvas, which provided a comfortable ride even on rough roads. Despite its modest specifications, the Lea-Francis 14 HP gained popularity among customers due to its affordability and reliability. The car was priced at £395 when it was first launched, making it an attractive option for middle-class buyers looking for a dependable mode of transportation. Its simple design and ease of maintenance also appealed to many owners who preferred to service their own vehicles. Overall, the Lea-Francis 14 HP is considered an important milestone in the history of British motoring. It helped establish the reputation of Lea-Francis as a reputable car manufacturer and paved the way for the development of other successful models in later years. Today, surviving examples of the 14 HP are highly sought after by classic car enthusiasts and collectors. #veteran #vintage #car #vintagecars #vintagestyle #oldtimer Support my: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/duskouh5
