So, you want to buy a GS. Great bike. But the R1100GS is one of the best GS's that were ever made. They are a real motorbike, no stupid electronics, to woo the novice rider. These bikes have to be ridden, properly. You have to be able to work out what to do if it rains, yourself!!!! imagine that!!! No 'rain mode' switch to do it all for you.
