FERRARI’S FORCED PURCHASE!? My First Drive in the New AMALFI

The new Ferrari Amalfi starts on the back foot, is it the car that "they make you buy"? I'm driving the Roma's successor for the first time, taking a full tour inside and out to understand it all, and sharing more on this question from a Ferrari collector's perspective. This is Amalfi, let's get to it in full! Replacing the successful Roma, comes the new Amalfi, named after the Italian coastal region. Powered by an evolution of the 3.9l TT V8 now making 640hp and 760Nm, it's purely combustion engine and now found in a revised body. Visually different from Roma both front and rear, and particularly when it comes to the interior layout, some might say it could just be the 'Roma M'. Significantly it changes to brake by wire, and introduces a number of requested items by customers including physical buttons to the steering wheel. However, the Roma undeservedly was often viewed as a car that customers would only buy because it was a key to another allocation, despite it being a deeply impressive car to drive. As a Ferrari collector who has owned a Roma Spider, I have a lot of thoughts on this topic and particularly in connection with the new Amalfi.
