BMW F800S with questionable bearing
I took my F800S apart as I was hearing a high howling sound coming from the rear on occasion. This was as free as I could get the rear end, so I could check just the bearing alone without actually taking apart the rear axle. The F800 bikes with a swingarm, i.e. BMW F800S and F800ST suffer from a few problems around the rear bearing. The parts kept getting upgraded over the model years, but this is still a first generation rear axle probably produced in early 2007 that never got changed and apparently has now, at 45.000km and 13 years after leaving the factory, decided to start quitting. As the video shows, the rear end doesn't uniformly stop from any spin but has various points from which it decelerates differently.
