As featured and immortalised in the Alfred Hitchcock classic “To Catch a Thief” starring Grace Kelly and Cary Grant. This very rarely seen Sunbeam Talbot Mk.1 Alpine Roadster was produced for just two years – 1953 and 1954. A total of just 1582 were built, and all by hand by the highly regarded old London firm of Thrupp & Maberly – who were honoured to be appointed coachbuilders to Queen Victoria. Of the 1582 vehicles built, 961 were sent to America in LHD format. RHD examples are VERY rare (regardless of their originality) and it is estimated that only around 200 examples are still in existence. The Sunbeam Talbot Alpine is a car with a large race pedigree, having its design genesis in rally/touring back in the 50`s. Even such legends as the likes of Stirling Moss and John Fitch had rallying success in this particular marque. As you can no doubt see from the photos above, this particular 1953 example looks absolutely stunning from every conceivable angle. Please contact us if you have a classic or vintage car for sale
