Saab Saved! - NEVS Emily GT Purchased by Canadian Startup

For more than a decade, NEVS has been all that remains of Saab, with the NEVS Emily GT being its only model. The Emily GT was developed by former Saab designers and engineers and is still recognizable as a member of the Saab family. In this video, I'll get you up to date on the story of the NEVS Emily and go over the design and features, as well as the mechanical and performance specs of this fully electric GT sports sedan designed to rival the likes of the Tesla Model S, Lucid Air, and Mercedes-Benz EQS. NEVS purchased Saab's automotive division in 2012 after the brand went bankrupt, but after a decade of dismal performance, NEVS began to liquidate its assets in March 2023. This seemed to be the final nail in the coffin for the niche Swedish brand, but now in December 2023, news came that Canadian EV startup EV Electra has purchased the Emily GT and plans to bring the model to production, with the mass production taking place in Saab's hometown of Trollhattan, Sweden. The Emily GT uses 4 motors with one built in to each wheel and is capable of 484 hp and a 0-60 time of 4.6 seconds.
