For more than a decade, NEVS has been all that remains of Saab, with the NEVS Emily GT being its only model. The Emily GT was developed by former Saab designers and engineers and is still recognizable as a member of the Saab family. In this video, I'll get you up to date on the story of the NEVS Emily and go over the design and features, as well as the mechanical and performance specs of this fully electric GT sports sedan designed to rival the likes of the Tesla Model S, Lucid Air, and Mercedes-Benz EQS. NEVS purchased Saab's automotive division in 2012 after the brand went bankrupt, but after a decade of dismal performance, NEVS began to liquidate its assets in March 2023. This seemed to be the final nail in the coffin for the niche Swedish brand, but now in December 2023, news came that Canadian EV startup EV Electra has purchased the Emily GT and plans to bring the model to production, with the mass production taking place in Saab's hometown of Trollhattan, Sweden. The Emily GT uses 4 motors with one built in to each wheel and is capable of 484 hp and a 0-60 time of 4.6 seconds. More importantly, the Emily GT was designed with a massive lithium ion battery capable of over 600 miles of range. Thanks for watching! NEVS AB (an abbreviated form of "National Electric Vehicle Sweden") is a Swedish electric car manufacturer which acquired the assets of Saab Automobile from a bankruptcy estate in 2012. After facing numerous financial difficulties, the company laid off most of its employees in March 2023, with both Polestar and EV Electra interested in buying the former Trollhättan factory.
