2025 Moda Sporter-S Scooter Launched In Malaysia - Price From RM17,888 - First Look

Getting its Malaysian public unveiling is the Moda Sporter-S 250 scooter, priced at RM17,888. Coming in two colour options – Sporty Red and Meteor Grey – pricing excludes road tax, insurance and registration while a two-year or 20,000 km warranty against manufacturing defects is provided. As it enters the 250 cc scooter segment in Malaysia with stocks expected in Moda dealer showrooms from next week, the Sporter-S faces local competition from the likes of market leader the Yamaha X-Max 250, priced at RM24,498. Other market competition includes the Honda NSS250 at RM25,888, the WMoto RT2 250 at RM16,888, the WMoto XDV250 at RM18,888, the Modenas Elegan 250 EX at RM16,997 and the retro Royal Alloy TG250S at RM19,888. Power for the Sporter-S comes from a Euro-4 compliant, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine displacing 244 cc, fed by Bosch EFI. Power is rated at 24.8 hp at 8,500 rpm with a maximum torque of 22.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Wheel sizing on the Sporter-S is 15-inches in front, shod with a 120/70 tyre, while the rear gets a 145-inch hoop, wearing 140-60 tyre. Braking is done with twin 260 mm diameter hydraulic discs in front and single 240 mm disc in the back, with two-channel ABS as standard equipment. The Sporter-S gets upside-down forks in front, with preload-adjustable shocks absorbers holding up the rear end. Riding conveniences include keyless start, traction control, tyre pressure monitoring, remote fuel and seat opening, backlit handlebar switches and USB charging port located in the instrument panel.
