Time for a supercar drag race! The Ferrari Enzo has always been a pinnacle #supercar. Released in 2003 the #Ferrari Enzo was one of the fastest supercar's in the world. Shortly after the Enzo, the Maserati MC12 was released in 2004 and was a homologation special for Maserati to renter racing. Both the Ferrari Enzo and Maserati MC12 have a mid-mounted F140 family V12 with over 600 horsepower. Finally the Ferrari F12 is the only front engine car in this race. Sporting a 6.3l V12 derived from the Enzo and MC12, the F12 is the most powerful car in this race! Each race is a rolling race and we are recording 1/4 mile times. The track temp was below 45f so the cars were not hard launched. 0-60 times for the enzo ranged were in the 4's. The Enzo was designed as the progeny of the F40, the last car produced with the auspices of Enzo Ferrari. The Enzo featured an all-new 6-liter V-12 engine, with a Formula One-inspired exterior by Ken Okuyama that revolutionized Ferrari aesthetics and made it an American favorite. The v-shaped hood, dramatic butterfly doors, and flattened body elements indicate the racing capability of the Enzo, which reaches 100 miles per hour in seconds. The carbon fiber interior with leather-trimmed seats also features LED shift indicators on the steering wheel. Developed primarily to race, the Maserati MC12 signaled the manufacturer’s return to the track after an absence of over three and a half decades. Just 30 MC12 production cars were built in 2004, although five were retained by the factory and not sold to the public. Customer reaction was so positive that an additional 25 were produced one year later, bringing the grand total road car production to 50, twice the minimum number required to qualify the model as a “production” car for racing. The Maserati MC12 is built on a Ferrari Enzo platform, but is larger in every external dimension and less angular, factors that contribute to its more favorable aerodynamics.
