In 1974, BMC founder, Kjell Qvale introduced a limited-production convertible that quickly became his company’s most revered model. In total, just 509 Interceptor Convertibles were built. The luxurious Interceptor Convertible was an exotic alternative to established iconic Aston Martin and Rolls-Royce Grand Touring convertible models of the era. This example was completed in November 1975 and delivered new to Canada, believed to have been under original ownership of Mr. R.A. Mudge of Ontario. In the mid-2000s, Legendary Motorcar Company acquired the Interceptor, then showing under 29,000 miles, and had it repainted in its original correct shade of Cerise Metallic. In early 2007, the Interceptor was sold to a longtime Jensen enthusiast in Washington state, who then entrusted the car to K&D Enterprises, a marque expert in Snohomish; who rebuilt the TorqueFlite transmission, upgraded the cooling system, refurbished suspension components, installed new Michelin tires, re-trimmed the coachwork, and refinished the original wheels. The 2008 All British Field Meet in Vancouver, B.C. yielded a First in Class Concours award.
