Motor Trend Car of the Year Trivia
How is your Motor Trend car of the year trivia? 1960..Chevy Covair, 1969...Plymounth Road Runner, 1982...Z28 Camaro. The year after that....drum roll please, American Motors for the Renault Alliance! Totally agree not even close to their best effort especially after winning with the Rambler in 63. (Dad used to work there so I'm somewhat partial) Oh wait, this is not the biggest clunker. There was the Chevy Vega in 71 and Citroen SM the year after, Chevy Citation in 80 and the entire Chrysler K line. Oh, and don't forget there were no awards given in 50, 53, 54 and 55. So here's a story that I did while in Green Bay, WI in the late 80's at what used to be the American Motors' proving grounds near Burlington, WI.
