Maruti Suzuki e Vitara first impressions: Has Maruti Suzuki got it right?
We’ve finally driven Maruti Suzuki’s first electric car, the e Vitara, in the UK — a car made in Gujarat for the world. This marks Maruti Suzuki’s debut in the EV space, and it’s built on a born-electric Heartect-e platform designed for space, practicality, and efficiency. On the outside, the e Vitara features chunky bumpers, black cladding, LED headlamps and taillamps, and 19-inch aero-optimised wheels with 185mm ground clearance. The cabin is feature-rich, offering a 12.3-inch infotainment system, wireless charging, heated and powered seats, a heated steering wheel (UK spec), sunroof, and 360-degree camera. Thanks to its EV-dedicated platform, cabin storage and space are generous, with rear seats that slide and recline. Powering the e-Vitara is a 61 kWh battery pack paired with a single front-mounted motor producing 142bhp and 193Nm of torque. The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta Electric and the MG Windsor EV when launched in India. In this video, executive editor Aatish Mishra drives the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara in the UK and shares his first impressions on its performance, handling, comfort, features, and everyday usability. #evoIndia Want more #ThrillOfDriving videos?
