BMW didn’t just redesign the 7 Series; it launched it into the future. This no-holds-barred reimagining of the brand’s most luxurious sedan creates an automotive Xanadu – one in which rear seat passengers have access to streaming services via a 31-inch, 8K widescreen, the Mirror Oak High Gloss trim illuminates with a kaleidoscope of colors, small tablets are integrated into the rear doors to control a multitude of relaxation functions in the Executive Lounge including a sleeper seat for times when you just want to stretch out, and the 36-speaker Bowers and Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound system adds a fourth dimension with bass drivers built into the backrests. The armrest panels are heated, the Sky Lounge LED roof is now larger with new lighting effects, the welcome mat sparkles, massage programs abound for every seat, and all four doors operate automatically – no need to tax yourself by pulling them closed. Based on this resume alone you’d expect a car of this ilk to command upwards of $200,000 which is why I’m impressed – remember, it’s all relative – that the MSRP is only $132,000. That may seem like a ridiculous statement but there’re some serious Rolls-Royce vibes here for pennies on the dollar.
