🚗 Welcome to our Porsche 944 Restoration Journey! In today’s video, we take you deep into the world of classic car restoration — specifically the iconic 1987 Porsche 944. Whether you're dreaming of reviving a childhood icon, flipping your first project car, or simply love turning wrenches, this episode will help you understand what makes a car a great candidate for restoration 🔥. 📍 What's Inside This Video? In this episode, we’ll cover: ✔️ How to find a solid restoration candidate ✔️ What mechanical and cosmetic issues to watch for ✔️ Whether the Porsche 944 is still a good investment in 2025 ✔️ What work can you do yourself vs what to leave to the pros ✔️ Why Gen X and older Millennials still dream about this car today ✔️ Tips on assessing resale value & restoration potential Let’s dive in! 🧰 🕵️♂️ What Makes a Classic Car a Good Restoration Project? ✅ 1. The Engine 💡 Is it seized? Does it turn over? Even if it doesn’t run yet, the condition of the engine is a make-or-break factor. We’ll show you how to do a quick assessment without tearing everything apart. ✅ 2. The Body Look for structural rust, damage to the frame rails, and panel alignment. Paint can always be redone — but serious rust or collision damage? That’s a whole different story. 🛠️ ✅ 3. Interior Condition While upholstery and trim can be replaced, finding OEM or replica parts can get expensive fast. We walk you through what to save and what’s easier (and cheaper) to replace. 🧼 ✅ 4. Parts Availability One of the best things about the Porsche 944? 🛒 Parts are surprisingly available! From online suppliers to specialty Porsche salvage yards, we’ll show you where to find what you need without breaking the bank. ✅ 5. Title & Paperwork Don’t skip this! 📝 Always make sure your project car has a clean or salvageable title. If the VINs don’t match or it's missing documentation, walk away. 🧠 Is the Porsche 944 a Smart Investment in 2025? The answer might surprise you 👀. These cars were under-appreciated for years, but enthusiasts have finally caught on. A well-restored 944 can now fetch between $12,000–$25,000+, depending on condition, mileage, and originality 📈. For many in their 40s and 50s, this was the dream car of their youth — now finally within reach. It’s the perfect mix of: ✨ '80s style ✨ Porsche pedigree ✨ Affordable performance ✨ RWD driving fun That makes it a hot market car — both for collectors and casual gearheads. 🧰 DIY vs Professional Restoration: What Can YOU Do?
