This led to the creation of the iconic Volkswagen Beetle, which became a symbol of Hitler's vision for the German automotive industry. Porsche's involvement in this project marked the beginning of a close relationship between the automaker and the Nazi regime. During World War II, Porsche's factories were heavily involved in producing military vehicles and equipment for the German war effort. They manufactured tanks, armored vehicles, and other machinery that supported Hitler's aggressive campaigns. Additionally, there were allegations that Porsche exploited forced labor from concentration camps, further tarnishing the company's history. These laborers faced unimaginable hardships and were subjected to inhumane treatment. It is important to note that Ferdinand Porsche's son, Ferry Porsche, later distanced himself from his father's association with Hitler and focused on rebuilding the company in the post-war period. Under Ferry's leadership, Porsche successfully reestablished itself as a manufacturer of high-performance sports cars, eventually becoming one of the most revered brands in the automotive industry.
