Mercedes killed GT1, so turned their attention to a new category the ACO allowed for Le Mans in 1999 called GTLMP, which was basically for modified GT1s to do their thing at Le Mans. So Mercedes turnedd up and in a bizarre string of accidents started taking off at the humps on the Circuit De La Sarthe that resulted in one car ending up on the other side of the barrier and in the trees.
