NETFLIX CAR MASTER'S PLYMOUTH XNR | RAREST CARS IN THE WORLD
Today we dive into the PLYMOUTH XNR Replica. Built by Gotham Garage on Season 2 of the Netflix show “Car Masters: Rust to Riches.” It is also built on a 1960 Valiant chassis, with a fiberglass body recreated using the original design plans. Upon completion, the car was donated to the Petersen. Only two replicas exist, both having been built by Gotham Garage, the other one being in a private collection. The 1960 Plymouth XNR was a concept car developed by Chrysler and Plymouth and designed by Virgil Exner as a sports roadster. Virgil Max "Ex" Exner Sr. was an automobile designer for numerous American companies and a pioneer of radial automobile design, known for creating many cars, including the XNR, which is named after him. The XNR was originally designed to compete with the Corvette and Thunderbird. It features an asymmetrical design, a fiberglass body on a 1960 Plymouth Valiant frame and a 6 cylinder engine producing 250hp and a top speed of 150mph. Only one concept model was ever made and never made it to production. Come check it out in our Vault! Tickets: https://www.petersen.org/tickets Don’t miss any of our upcoming videos.
