VINTAGE JACK BENNY LIVE (ON TAPE) TEXACO COMMERCIAL - 4 CUTE GIRLS DRESSED AS TEXACO FIRE CHIEFS
Jack Benny hosted a TV special, which aired on Feb, 17, 1969. The special was created to commemorate Jack's 75th birthday. In this commercial, four very cute young girls are dressed as Texaco Fire Chiefs, and they walk up to Jack to give him a special birthday present. Since Jack never would put more than 1 gallon of Texaco gasoline in his car, the young girls were giving him a certificate for a FULL TANK OF GAS. It is a lot CHEAPER for Jack to have somebody give him the gasoline, as opposed to buying it for $3.55 per gallon (2013 prices, and going up to appox. $4.55, a year later), and then it went down to as low as .95 cents (Madison, WI, during the height of the pandemic). Even at that price it would have been too expensive for Jack's fictional persona to handle. By the way, it is now back to $3.08 per gallon in the year 2021, all because of huge gas tax increases (Illinois).
