1934 Packard "Aquarius" Custom | James Hetfield
Video taken at Lemay/ACM in Tacoma, WA. The 1934 Packard dubbed ‘Aquarius’ is a unique car in James Hetfield's (Metallica frontman) collection. The car gets a teardrop design and is a hot rod. But the overall design has a French car styling, from the same era, given to it. The inspiration for the design came from a 1939 Delahaye 165. And James’ Aquarius was built by Rick Dore and his team at RD Kustoms. The car sits on a customized Morrison chassis and rides on air suspensions. The finished car was painted in silver color and market estimates tell it is worth over $114,900. 1934 Packard ‘Aquarius’ Specs: ------------ Price: $114,900 Engine: 5.2-liter inline-8 Horsepower: 120 hp Torque: N/A Transmission: 3-speed manual 0-60 MPH: 20.6 sec Top Speed: 100 MPH The 1934 Packard Eleventh Series Standard Eight Model 1101 came with a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated eight-cylinder engine as standard that made 120 hp. It had a claimed top speed of 100 MPH and a 0-60 MPH time of 20.6 seconds as per a third party. But James not only redid the bodywork but also took the opportunity to upgrade the engine to a 6.2-liter LS3 V8. Chevrolet’s LS3 V8 is rated to make between 426 to 436 hp and between 420 to 426 lb-ft of torque. #Packard #Aquarius #Hetfield #customcars #nismogropo
