CAUTION *STOP* DO NOT use Motorcraft TA-357 Silicone on your DIESEL - You WILL leak OIL!!! TRUST ME

STOP USE OF TA357 on Ford diesel engines!!! Welcome back Powerstroke family! I have been sitting on this for quite some time and its time that I finally talk about it. I am sick and tired of being told by big brother that TA357 is the silicone we(technicians)are to use when we repair your $80,000 truck. I was told by my mentor that TA31 is to be only used on diesels. Well guess what, he was right. If you know your truck is going in for an oil leak PLEASE PLEASE tell them that if the repair is under warranty, YOU WILL PAY FOR OUT OF YOUR POCKET, for TA31 to be used. Do not get hosed and get stuck with TA357. If you wanna do your ecoboosts, fine no problem, diesels will EAT that putty right up. After talking with Loctite I will NEVER use TA357 on another diesel engine again.
