Huawei and JAC launch Maextro: First Factory Setup

The car is priced between $137,000 and $205,000. Bookings are open with a deposit of $2,740. The Maextro S800 comes in battery electric and extended-range electric versions. It features dual-motor and tri-motor options, with peak power reaching up to 237.5 kW in the tri-motor variant. The vehicle is developed under Maextro, a new brand co-created by Huawei and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group (JAC). Production will take place in a newly completed smart factory in Hefei, China. The facility, equipped with 1,500 robots and AI technology, is expected to generate $13.7 billion annually.

It is part of Huawei's HIMA multi-brand collaboration model, where Huawei handles product creation and design, provides technologies such as full-stack ADAS solutions and infotainment systems, and provides powertrain components, while JAC is responsible for chassis engineering and manufacturing of vehicles.
