Step into the world of Top Marques Monaco 2023, held at the elegant Grimaldi Forum—a playground of supercars, hypercars, and automotive dreams. Over 200 elite vehicles filled the halls, from custom-built exotics to classic gems, all showcased under Monaco’s legendary luxury.
This edition featured the first-ever Ferrari auction, where ultra-rare models—including a celebrated Ferrari Enzo and a 1956 288 GTO—sold for millions, igniting auctions on opening night. From futuristic electric rovers to stunning prototypes by Bugatti, Koenigsegg, and Dallara, every display blended innovation with prestige.
Visitors mingled with celebrities and influencers, while world premieres and eco-forward marvels drew high praise. Top Marques served as both gallery and marketplace: concept cars launched, collectors bid, and automotive excellence reigned at every turn. Immerse in a realm where power, design, and luxury converge in pure Monaco style.
The Vector W8 is a bold statement in American engineering—a wedge-shaped, twin-turbocharged supercar built by Vector Aeromotive from 1989 to 1993. Conceived by Jerry Wiegert and refined by David Kostka, it carries a carbon-fiber and Kevlar body over an aluminum honeycomb chassis, weighing around 1,500 kg for astounding performance.
Under its mid-mounted hood sits a 6.0‑litre Rodeck twin-turbo V8 pumping out around 625 hp and 880 Nm of torque. With boost fully dialed up, it was said to reach over 1,200 hp in factory dyno tests. Even in standard tune, the W8 catapults from 0 to 100 km/h in about 4.2 seconds, with claimed top speeds between 350 and 389 km/h.
Its styling is unapologetically ‘90s — sharp angles, scissor doors, and a fighter-jet-inspired cockpit with digital dash switches. The transmission is a modified 3-speed GM automatic, wired to handle high torque with industrial strength feel. Push‑rod suspension up front, a De Dion rear axle, and massive ventilated brakes deliver tense, track-focused dynamics and nearly 1 g cornering capability.
Production was ultra‑limited—just around 17 customer cars and a few prototypes—making it one of the rarest supercars ever. The W8’s audacious ambition, cutting‑edge materials, and American bravado helped define it as a cult classic—even if reliability and corporate drama eventually overshadowed its promise.
Owning a Vector W8 isn’t just collecting a car—it’s owning a piece of audacious automotive history, a fusion of aerospace materials, brute-force turbocharging, and 1990s excess, forever echoing what might have been America’s first hypercar.
