AC Cobra back at the track - FINALLY!
Finally made it back to the race track on Jan 18, 2019, after a 15 month absence. First run was lousy at 12.223 sec, 120.13 mph, 60" = 1.682 sec. I rode the rev limiter halfway down the track like I had never raced in my life - a little nervous, I guess. Second race was a little better with a 11.565 sec, 122.46 mph, 60" = 1.687 run. I lined up with the same guy both races - a young man with a real nice pick-up truck who had a lot of fun racing the Cobra. Front cam was positioned incorrectly - not the video I was going for...and the Movie Maker editor glitches are hard to take. But, at least I'm back to the track! Car seemed to run alright, just wish I could shift faster, launch harder, drive better, etc. A lot of great cars and people were there, and much interest in the Cobra.
About Pick-up truck
A pickup truck or pickup is a light or medium duty truck that has an enclosed cabin, and a back end made up of a cargo bed that is enclosed by three low walls with no roof. In Australia and New Zealand, both pickups and coupé utilities are called utes, short for utility vehicle. In South Africa, people of all language groups use the term bakkie; a diminutive of Afrikaans: bak, meaning bowl or container.
