1992 Mercury Cougar TV Commercial with shots of the old school manufacturing plant. The seventh-generation Mercury Cougar (with the exception of the Corvette) was the first mass-produced front-engine rear-drive American automobile sold in the U.S. that used four-wheel independent suspension in place of a live rear axle. Between 1989 and 1991, the seventh generation re-design MN12 chassis was powered solely by a 3.8 L V6, as the lowered hoodline of the MN12 was too low to fit the 4.9 L (302 cu in) V8 making it the first time a V8 was not available in the Cougar or Thunderbird. The 1992 Model Year Cougar was re-introduced with a redesigned intake manifold to allow sufficient underhood clearance for the engine to be installed. #mercurycougar #fordthunderbird #retrotv #oldcommercial #mercurycars
